Our Mission

Our mission is to feed people, especially children, who cannot feed themselves through a diverse variety of programs while also spreading the word of the Lord through prayer and bible distribution.

This mission is accomplished through vigerous research in locating the most efficient charity programs and donating financially to them as well as being conscious of needs in the South Texas community.

The three scriptures that help fuel our mission are as follows...

Micah 6:8 (New International Version)

8 He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Deut. 15:7 (New International Version)

7 If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother.

Matthew 25:34-40 (New International Version)

34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Our Story

I was never raised with religion in my life.  It wasn't until I moved from Anchorage, Alaska with my wife and two daughters to Corpus Christi, Texas in 2006 that I started on this personal journey.

It all started several years ago when I would be up late, usually drinking beer, and stumble across a Billy Graham crusade on television.  These crusades would be hour long sermons delivered by Billy Graham to packed stadiums on relevent topics that we all deal with.  This happened dozens of times over the course of a few months until I grabbed a bible and began by reading on my own, praying, and finding what the Lord had in store for me.

Then it happened - One night, I was watching a Billy Graham Crusade on television and he talked about "teting the tithe" in which he said to just test God and start giving 10% of your income to the Lord.  I started doing this and immediatley afterward, my business profits soared.

Then came the ultimate cementing on my faith - I missed a tithe of about $40 and sales in my business came to a screetching hault.  After realizing I had missed a tihe, I took $40 down to the Food Bank and donated it and within 48 hours, a whole new flood of business came in.

This undeniable sign from the Lord cemented my fait and pushed me to start a small ministry focused on feeding those who cannot feed themselves.

Fast forward to today and I'm an ordained minister here in Texas.

MicahsLight.com Ministry is a small, family run ministry.  In fact, there are four people on the board of directors with two being me and my wife Wendy, and the other two being my 15 year old daugther Kelsey Lynn and my 4 year old daugther Madison Rose.

I have backed 100% of the donations and activities of Micahs Light Ministries out of my own pocket.  While we have recently added a donation section, we have not yet received any donations as we are just getting our online presence started.
